Gosh darn it, I knew it! I will still read the books because they always give much more detail and the HBO series will be slightly different from the books.
 
Season 1-4 were relatively faithful. Season 5 made a series of gargantuan changes and had hugely increased pacing compared to the rest of the series because they were adapting two novels in a single season.
