A day after signing steep new tariffs on Mexico, Canada and China, President Donald Trump acknowledged what economists, members of Congress and even some of his own aides — in their previous lives — have been saying all along: Americans may find themselves paying the costs.

“THIS WILL BE THE GOLDEN AGE OF AMERICA! WILL THERE BE SOME PAIN? YES, MAYBE (AND MAYBE NOT!),” Trump posted, in all capital letters, on his Truth Social platform.

I live about 30 miles away from Canada and use to go there every week end , have a lot of friends there and one called us Friday and asked the same thing, saying Trump has to be nuts, we agreed he is.
This is just going to cause a lot of people to be harmed financially.
Heck there are people out there working two jobs just to get by now , now tack on a 25% tariff and a lot of things they buy and what will they do then?
It is going to be a shit show and I am afraid it will be for four years.

I never saw a MAGA moron here who ever wrote that they wanted a trade war with Canada. It wasn't on their radar screen, and it wasn't something they said they were voting for.

Maybe not a trade war but a lot of them were crying for tariffs , and in doing that they should have known other countries would do the same to us and it would cause a trade war.
MAGAS got what they wanted now we all will have to pay the price.

Yeah! Do you live in America? Trump ain't lying and saying there isn't going to be any pain here and there.
This is getting it back right after half a century of bullshit. There will be problems, but in the end everything will be better.
Federal government will be reduced and Americans will prosper more, and many more along with them.
We are going to set a shining beacon standard for all the world to see.

We have a long history of trade wars with Canada. We flood their markets with milk products, killing their dairy industry. They flood our markets with wood products.

This is nothing new. But to impose tariffs is sheer stupidity.

It's never going to happen

He chickened out and panicked at the thought of the economic damage he could inflict on the USA.
