A woman is facing sentencing Jan. 13 following accusations she put bleach in her husband's eye drops in revenge for marital problems, authorities said.

Kristy Ryan McDermed, 35, could face penalties ranging up to 93 days in jail and a $500 fine when she is sentenced by 35th District Judge James Plakas for a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence.

Canton Detective Sgt. Chad Baugh said McDermed also allegedly placed an ad on a website, Craigslist, offering to pay someone to assault her husband.

The wife and mother pleaded guilty this month to domestic violence after her husband went to police in mid-October, saying he had gotten out of the shower and started using the eye drops.

"He felt a burning sensation and could smell what appeared to be bleach," Baugh said.

The husband realized there was a problem as soon as he put drops into one eye, but Baugh said the incident apparently didn't cause any permanent damage.

McDermed has since pleaded guilty to domestic violence and admitted her role in trying to harm her husband, police said.

Helen Ann Williams, 44, of North Charleston, S.C., was charged with domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature

A South Carolina woman was held on a domestic abuse charge for allegedly stabbing her husband with a decorative ceramic squirrel when he came home late on Christmas Eve without any beer.

Williams' 41-year-old husband set out to buy beer, but returned home empty-handed because the stores were closed.

That enraged Williams, and as her husband set about making himself a sandwich, she picked up the ceramic squirrel and conked him over the head with it.

Then she stabbed him in the chest with it, the report said.

The man fled to a neighbor's home to call 911, and when officers arrived they found him covered in blood with cuts on his shoulder and face.

When he took off his shirt, they found a big gash in his chest.

Initially, Williams tried to persuade police that her husband fell, but officers were skeptical because she also had blood on her hands and clothes.

A woman and two other people have been accused of plotting to kill her husband and mask the crime by pulling his teeth, but he survived.

Kimberly Jane Thompkins, Robert Crosby and Daryith Lorraine Stevens met at a Pittsburgh-area fast-food restaurant and plotted to kill Adam Thompkins, authorities said.

Kimberly Thompkins drove her husband to Cedar Creek Park, 25 miles south of Pittsburgh, authorities said.

Shortly before noon, Crosby stabbed Adam Thompkins with a knife, police said.

Kimberly Thompkins took pliers to pull her husband's teeth, and there was a can of gas to burn a body, according to an affidavit of probable cause.

A bystander saw a bloody man in the park and called police, who investigated and found Adam Thompkins covered in blood.

Police said they later made the arrests after the suspects gave conflicting stories.

Kimberly Thompkins, Crosby and Stevens face charges of attempted homicide, conspiracy and other crimes.

They're being held in the Westmoreland County jail, unable to post $100,000 bond each and unavailable for comment. No defense attorneys were listed on court papers.

A woman accused of killing her 13-year-old daughter also tried to poison her three younger children and ex-husband in a rampage, police say.

Connie Villa, 35, was arrested Sunday after she was released from Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix, where she was being treated for what police believe were self-inflicted stab wounds, according to Officer Thomas Anderson, a Casa Grande Police Department spokesman.

Her 13-year-old daughter, Aniarael Macias, was found dead in the bathroom of the family's apartment Wednesday after Adam Villa, 33, called 911 to report he had been stabbed.

Investigators determined that Connie Villa tried to kill the three other children, ages 3, 5 and 8, by forcing them to take prescription narcotics.

She then lured ex-husband Adam Villa to the apartment and stabbed him repeatedly.

McCarthy left her Santa Fe residence, then came back and changed into lingerie. The outfit was accessorized by a silver handgun placed in her vagina.

McCarthy reportedly posed the question, "Who is crazy, you or me?" before pulling out the gun and pointing it at her boyfriend's head, the Albuquerque Journal reported.

A distraught mother of two talented teen musicians shot her kids dead before turning the gun on herself in a gruesome Florida double-murder suicide.

Richard Berman found his children, Alex, 15, and Jacqueline, 16, bullet-ridden and their mother, Jennifer Berman, dead of a suicide in their West Palm Beach home Monday morning, only hours after he received an email from the maniacal mother threatening harm to their shared children.

Wasn't one of our liberal women posters here saying that decisions based on emotion were laudable? Weren't other libs defending her?

Once poster recently said something like 'republicans have lost the women vote forever'.

Maybe they were engaging in hyperbole.

At least we know one women who won't be voting Dem anymore, unless they use one of their usual election tricks.

Liberals who oppose efforts to prevent voter fraud claim that there is no fraud — or at least not any that involves voting in person at the polls.

But New York City’s watchdog Department of Investigations has just provided the latest evidence of how easy it is to commit voter fraud that is almost undetectable.

DOI undercover agents showed up at 63 polling places last fall and pretended to be voters who should have been turned away by election officials; the agents assumed the names of individuals who had died or moved out of town, or who were sitting in jail. In 61 instances, or 97 percent of the time, the testers were allowed to vote.

Those who did vote cast only a write-in vote for a “John Test” so as to not affect the outcome of any contest. DOI published its findings two weeks ago in a searing 70-page report accusing the city’s Board of Elections of incompetence, waste, nepotism, and lax procedures.

Young undercover agents were able to vote using the names of people three times their age, people who in fact were dead.

In one example, a 24-year female agent gave the name of someone who had died in 2012 at age 87; the workers at the Manhattan polling site gave her a ballot, no questions asked.

Even the two cases where poll workers turned away voters raise eyebrows.

In the first case, a poll worker on Staten Island walked outside with the undercover investigator who had just been refused a ballot; the “voter” was advised to go to the polling place near where he used to live and “play dumb” in order to vote.

In the second case, the investigator was stopped from voting only because the felon whose name he was using was the son of the election official at the polling place.

Police say the mother of a 10-year-old boy found dead in their suburban home admitted to killing him before officers discovered his body in a bathtub.

Arnav Dhawan, 10, was found dead in the home where he lived with his mother and father in the 1500 block of Mountain View Lane, said Frisco police spokesman Brad Merritt.

According to a statement released by the Frisco Police Department, officers were called at about 6:32 p.m. to the home in the Hunters Creek neighborhood.

Merritt said the boy’s father, Sumeet Dhawan, returned home from an out-of-state business trip and learned through his email that his son had not attended school for a few days. His wife was out running errands and the father realized he couldn’t locate his son.

Upon arriving at the scene, police spoke with the father as his wife, Pallavi Dhawan, 38, arrived home. She asked to speak with Sumeet in private and officers allowed them to. Meritt said Sumeet became upset and pointed to the bedroom door.

Officers then asked Pallavi if the son was inside and she nodded her head “yes,” Merritt said. When asked if the boy was dead, Pallavi again nodded affirmatively, the officer said.

An Arizona woman is accused of trying to kill her hospitalized husband by injecting fecal matter into his IV line, police in suburban Phoenix said Friday.

Rose Mary Vogel was arrested on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder after a nurse found the 65-year-old handling her husband's IV line, which was found to contain a brown substance, police said.

A hospital lab test identified the brown substance in the IV line as fecal matter, and a trace amount of a brown substance also was found in the needle of an otherwise empty syringe found in Vogel's purse, police said.
