Will Xi lend Vlad a squad of those girl guards? It would spice up the cheerless halls of the Kremlin.
 
China needs us to buy their goods. They are very capitalistic. They are not prepared to face a new economic reality that is that dire.

Yeah but China is also setting itself up to be the next superpower after the US topples and fails. You are right, though, they need our dollars and we want their cheap goods so it beggars the imagination why China would be willing to reach around on Ukraine. There's not a lot of value there for them. And supporting Russia while annoying America is not going to set them up to get at a richer consumer base.

When China finally gets around to realizing it can easily swamp us they will do so. And we won't be able to respond in any meaningful manner when that day comes. We are already showing cracks that won't be papered over all that well.

Swamp us, how? Wars are fought by machines and distant weapons like rockets and missiles. The soldiers are going to be robots. They cannot swamp us.

refuse to pay. Besides how much damage would that do to China? They are on an upward trend that has made them much richer. Throwing it all away for Russia is not going to happen.

We have a huge amount of debt parked in China. They could destroy our economy in the space of a day. At that point it doesn't matter how good the tanks are.


Generally I agree with your larger point that China needs us quite a bit for their economy. But it isn't really a balanced relationship and that's mostly our fault in that we gave them this level of control over us. Coupled with China's rather loose view of intellectual property and the relationship grows further apart in terms of equality.

Debt has contracts.They cannot demand it all in one day.
