Workplace Discrimination - I was victimized!

Republicans Fear Me
Recently, the company for which I work offered promotions. I applied. I was informed that I would have to work Sundays to be given an interview. I protested because I go to church and I teach Sunday school. When I explained this situation; I was told "If you don't want to work Sundays, it's ok, I have 20 other people who will."

Naturally, I made my displeasure known and I got a canned interview. Naturally, I did not get the position. If any of you were wondering why I dislike big business, this is why. If I do nothing, I admit defeat and prove that I will tolerate the untolerable to keep a job. If I file a complaint, I will get retaliated against.

Effectively, I am a 2nd class citizen where I work because I stood up and forced them to give me a canned interview.

May god have mercy on all of you.... even you republicans.... that you never have to experience what I did. To be completely destroyed by it and to have to live as a 2nd class citizen because of it.

Not sure if this is serious but if a company is offering promotions and part of that promotion is working Sunday and a person applying can't work on Sunday what do you expect the company to do? Is your work so superior to your co-workers that you feel they should make special accomodations for you?

The law says that I cannot be discriminated against based on religious beliefs. I was made to choose between promotion or church. This is wrong on so many subtle little levels.

If I complain, they fire me, If I do nothing, they win.

This guys a legit lefty I believe. One time he wrote that Republicans suck and I think said something about their behavior being anti-American. I read it while drunk one night and responded 'I agree, Republicans suck'.

I woke up in the morning with the normal dread of looking at the board and seeing what I might have posted the night before. What i saw was Rana telling me to fuck off. I did a serious double take. I agreed with someone saying Republicans suck and she tells me to f off??? Well I guess she didn't like him saying Republicans behavior was anti-American so she told me to f off because I agreed with it. Haha, definitely a twightlight zone experience.

Am I turning into a con? I have been interviewing since last week for a couple of positions here. One of them for someone we are getting rid of for always being out and late, and changing her hours because of personal issues. I have been popping excedrin one after the other.

I think running our business is turning me into a con, I'm really scared. Maybe the OP is right? Maybe this is discrimination?

LOL... I don't think you are in danger of becoming a con. But my guess is you understand that frustration a boss would go through if they were forced to keep that employee via a union contract.
