Wouldn't it be better to wake up to a better Congress?

They have given away most of their work and their power too, to the President, to the Bureaucracy, and to the lobbyists and NGO's. That they have so little actual work to do anymore is why they have the luxury of spending almost half their time scrounging for money, and they spend a good deal of the rest playing childish political games. It also has something to do with why so few people care that Congress is full of shit people.

We have elections that allow us to term limit anybody we want.
I believe in public service as a career for certain people so disposed, and if somebody represents us well, we shouldn't have to give her/him up.
President F. D. Roosevelt was elected to that office four times because he was a trusted leader.

I know that people who don't like government don't believe in professional office holders.
Look at the magnificent job amateur Donald Orangutan did. He nearly destroyed government completely!
So if you like that, you like term limits.

With term limits, the consequences of the laws you enact; effects you, so one is more likely to have a sense of self awareness and purpose. With term limits, there's no time to focus on the next election and raising money, with term limits, those running for office are true believers in their government and what impact they themselves can impose and get done. And while at it, we should get rid of both parties and have people run on what they themselves believe, not the party and let the ppl chose from that prospective, rather than what party your in.
