Illegal Aliens Rear End Homeland Security Vehicle

January 29th, 2008 @ 12:49pm
by Jayme West/KTAR

A mini-van full of illegals rear-ended a Homeland Security SUV this morning on I-10.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety said the overloaded van was heading west when it was involved in a 3-vehicle chain-reaction crash near the Elliot Road off ramp.

No one was hurt.

The 11 illegal immigrants inside the van were taken into custody by ICE.

This is more common than some people may think.

I was at a campsite with a number of friends near the California/Mexico border, when a groups of illegals walked in and asked for food, water, and directions. There were about six of them.

We shared pizza, soft drinks, and beer with them, while one fellow quietly called the nearby Border Patrol office, who came and took them away.

As they left, we explained to them that we were the local Minuteman chapter, and that the campsite was our base of operations for patrolling that section of the border in cooperation with the Border Patrol.

Hope they ask for their money back from whatever coyote took them over the border at that location, next time they see him. - LA

While I was working the Border South of Yuma,Arizona on the Midnight shift...My partner and I parked amongst some orange groves for our 10-7 lunch break...note we were in a marked Customs Patrol Dodge 4x4...at any rate we heard a commotion in the bed of our truck...low and behold five mules were placing 25 kilo bags of MJ in our truck...then they jumped in...we drove them to the port of entry at San Luis,Arizona and thanked them for making our night so productive!:D

Haven't heard one quite that wild before. Most of the illegals we run into (or who run into us) are cold, hungry, thirsty, exhausted, and frequently lost. They're often ready to pack it in, and approached us not caring if they got turned in or not. The group of 6 I mentioned were an exception, I think, they did not look all that tired. We give them what we have, keep them warm, and call the BP. Usually they don't leave even when they know the BP is coming for them.

We have a lot more trouble with people from OUR side of the border - mostly racist Mecha-type groups who accuse us of hunting people, shooting people, being "vigilantes", "taking the law into our own hands" etc. Not hard to argue them down, but they seldom stay long enough to argue intelligently. Shouting slogans and profanity is what we usually get.

Most neighbors in that area come around regularly to thank us, and the Border Patrol is always friendly.
