So why is it that Congress, who is already running a trillion plus DEFICIT... needs its own planes? Why can't they just fly commercial like everyone else?

Lawmakers disclosed they spent about $13 million traveling the world last year, a tenfold increase since 1995, when travel records first were made available electronically. The travel costs are covered by an unlimited fund created by a three-decade-old law."

"This month, for example, 11 separate congressional delegations will swing through Germany. House Minority Leader John Boehner of Ohio is leading five other lawmakers on a trip around the world. Sen. Richard Shelby (R., Ala.) is taking a group of senators and their spouses to Europe for three weeks."

It did not say how many of the days were on the private aircraft owned by the DOD for use by the Congressional pigs. Now they need 8 new private aircraft so they can waste more time over seas. WTF do they need to go overseas so often for now? What facts are these idiots (both parties) looking for that they can't find by jumping on-line?

Ask John McCain and your fellow travelers. Do I really need to go through the archives to find instances of Republicans criticizing Obama on Iraq because he hadn't actually been there in a while?

Now, I think "fact-finding missions" are generally a crock of shit most of the time and are mostly nothing more than tax-payer funded junkets but apparently there is an argument to be made (not that I buy it. At all) that these trips really are important.

Why are you trying to divert this into a partisan manner? Are you so argumentative that you can't notice the TWO examples I posted were BOTH of Republicans trips?

Do try to pull your head out of your ass upon occasion. You will find the view and smell much more pleasant.

As I said, I think these fact-finding trips are horseshit but there seem to be plenty of folks that put stock in them.
 
Anyone who hasn't quite figured it out yet, let me re-iterate. Politicians are egotistical maniacs who think they can do what they want, when they want. Rules do not apply to them, they make the rules.

I don't know how anyone can be partisan, because none of them actually give a shit. When they pretend to give a shit, they find whatever catches the public eye at the moment. They all wanted to be rockstars, but no one liked their music.
