- Trump once asked his White House chief of staff, Gen. John Kelly.
“Which generals?”
“The German generals in World War II.”
Kelly told him that Hitler’s generals had plotted to kill him and once actually blew him up but he survived.
“No, no, they were totally loyal to him,” Trump insisted.
By this time Kelly was consulting “The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump”, a study by 27 mental health experts who warned that Trump was mentally unfit for the presidency. Kelly regarded this as a helpful guide to dealing with a president whom he considered a pathological liar, whose grotesque ego was a sign of a deeply disturbed person.
But he didn’t try to assassinate him!
