You know that Democrats lie. Here's proof

There's a reason why voters took the Congressional majority away from Democrats in both houses.

To be fair, they/them isn't a US Senator. They/them is a US representative (who happens to resemble @Phantasmal somewhat).

The mention of $5 billion in emergency funds likely refers to the contingency reserves mentioned in USDA documentation and Democrat statements.

The USDA’s pre-shutdown plan indicated that multi-year contingency funds were created to cover SNAP benefits and administrative costs.

However, the exact amount of these reserves isn’t specified in the provided data as $5 billion, it’s described as sufficient to cover about 60% of one month’s benefits (per the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, or CBPP) as a fund intended for emergencies like natural disasters). These funds could partially offset the $8 billion monthly cost, which aligns roughly with Shutdown Schumer’s $5 billion figure if rounded or estimated.

Deceitful Democrats have demanded that these reserves should be released. However, these funds are legally restricted to emergencies, not routine benefit distribution during a shutdown.

Schumer's shutdown is not a natural disaster.

It's a Democrat disaster.

Some of them. They are insane.

They are Democrats. Among other things;

They demand a permanent extension of enhanced Affordable Care Act (ACA) premium tax credits and subsidies, originally enacted during the COVID-19 era and set to expire December 31, 2025, at an estimated cost of $350 billion over 10 years.

They demand elimination of all benefit-related work requirements for able-bodied adults without dependents, restoration of benefits for illegal immigrants (framed by Democrats as "emergency care access", estimated to cost around $200 billion over a decade), and blocking restrictions on federal funding for "certain treatments" like "gender-affirming" therapies and surgeries.

They demand guaranteed back pay and priority rehiring for unionized federal workers whose positions were eliminated by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

They demand restoration of federal funding in funding for NPR and PBS.

Democrats have rejected the clean Continuing Resolution (CR) that the House passed on September 19 a total of 13 times as of today.
