YOUCUT

I think a 50% cut is too much, but the rest I agree with.

Thanks to our sacred second amendment, the citizens of this country are armed to the teeth. Quite of few of them are always blathering about violently overthrowing our american government; and although I've never actually heard them say anything about repelling a foreign invasion, I presume we are well equipped enough to do so without spending money on a massive military industrial complex, and a massive professional standing army.

ps: I've always wondered why these militia dudes are always brandishing their guns and talking about the sacred right to overthrow our american government; but I can't ever recall them ever talking about using their guns to repel foreign invaders. Oh well, that's a conundrum I'll probably never figure out!

You want them to start an effort to repeal health care reform this soon?

Yes, we should have a public, universal healthcare system like pretty much ever developed nation on earth. What do we need insurance companies for? Why not just pay the doctors directly, instead of going through a middle man who will demand his pound of flesh on top of the doctor's costs.

Not being a "militia dude" I can only speculate. I cannot think of a nation that could possibly hope to successfully invade us militarily. I do think the armed private citizens would be a great guerilla force if someone did. But it seems to me that the most likely threat we face is from an overzealous administration in DC. (of either political stripe)

You've never heard it probably because you've never actually talked to anyone active in a militia. Most of us (99%) realize that the only possible foreign threats are our border nations, Mexico and Canada. Neither one of them is a threat to even consider.

I'm sure Bravo will chime in with something about China or something stupid like that. China doesn't have the naval power to mobilize more than a brigade or two. They'd make it about 2 miles into American soil and be stopped resoundly. And that's the BEST they could hope for. More likely, they'd load up, we'd see it with one of our many satellites, mention that they had best turn around. If they didn't, we'd decorate the Formosa strait with shiny ship parts (the navy would be the one branch to have the fewest budget cuts).
