It's just trump trying to cow the world by showing everyone what a "tough guy" he is. My sense is that as soon as Wall Street gets fed up - and that's not long in coming, that trump will back off on the tariffs and "claim victory" by lying that "the world is behaving now because of him".

I mean this is the guy that went bankrupt in the casino business! He's a great marketer and demigod, but he can't run anything successfully.

I heard a theory today that sounds plausible. trump just likes demonstrating how powerful he is. It's what a megalomaniac does.

I was just reading Trump did say the economy was going to boom.
MAGAS thought it was going to boom and really grow. it looks like it surely went BOOM and blew up.
Not exactly the BOOM they thought.

I'm truly curious to see how it all works out. If my understanding of history and human nature is correct, it will work out for the good in the end.

People like freedom. They like what they like without fear of recrimination. They become afraid when those freedoms are threatened.

IMO, most Euro-Americans are spoiled by the successes of their grandparents and great-grandparents. Another reason why I support a draft.

That remains to be seen....what has happened is that we have scared the shit out of the Japanese and the South Koreans, both of whom immediately went to the Chinese saying something like "You know all that chatter that we are going to become Asian NATO and get ready to take you on?.....that may be all over".

The same thing is likely true with the Vietnamese, who we have spent a lot of time and energy trying to get on side.

America is a bad friend, America is unreliable, America seems to be going down.

Its time for a hard reevaluation.

No the BOOM we are hearing isn't from the boom in " growth " Trump said would come, but the crashing of the economy , the explosion and destruction of what was a growing economy, JUST like the last time Trump took over from Obama. the economy had recovered from the mess the last Republican President left and was growing , then Trump took over and it went right down the drain like it is doing now.
And now we have to hope it doesn't get so bad the next DEM President can't repair it. like they always have to do after a Republican President crashed the economy.
