Donald Trump may finally get his long-desired military parade through the streets of Washington.

The Washington City Paper, citing an unnamed D.C. source, reports that the president has chosen June 14, 2025—the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army, Flag Day, and coincidentally also his own 79th birthday—as the big day. If it goes ahead, the four-mile procession would go from the Pentagon in Arlington to the White House.

Probably the same thing I think, it is a waste of money. Grand military parades are "impressive"... but we don't do them here so we won't look like the USSR on May the 1st.

Agreed. Most celebrations are at individual bases. It's cheaper than flying them in from around the country and housing them for a few days.

I think it’s funny that you think it isn’t about himself. He just picked a day to make it look like he’s celebrating the Army, who he thinks is a bunch of losers. He is laying off veterans by the thousands. He is also laying off thousands of workers who manage Veterans health.

He skipped the memorial of the soldiers who died in Lithuania, because he had to golf in his own tournament.
