Where were all of Trump's genius-level negotiating skills in his first term when he promised a national healthcare plan, a national infrastructure bill, getting Mexico to pay for the wall, and getting North Korea to give up nukes?
Pretty much tied up in lawfare made up by the democrat party. He did get much of the wall, illegal immigration was down, he was taken down from a second term by the Chinese who sent us a virus that disrupted most progress.

As history shows, republicans led the push to outsource labor & manufacturering for decades to screw over American unions. Your Cheeto Jeezus smugly admitted in the 2016 debates to using Chinese steel for his buildings. Look it up, genius.
You finally have someone working to protect US jobs like democrats have always wanted... and you can't support it because it is "their orange Jesus"... <smh> Chuckling quietly to myself...

Someone is doing what you've all wanted. From Pelosi in 1996 to just a few years ago... protectionism. It's a populist thing, not a conservative thing. I can't believe that republicans are supporting this rather than "free trade" and are acting like it was their idea in some way... Absolutely absurd.

I always love how upset she is that republicans were "doing this", and ignored that President Clinton was the one that was in charge of foreign relations... but here's Pelosi hating on "most favored" status for China:

While Bernard Sanders ran for President in 2008 he constantly railed on how low our tariffs were. In 2005 Schumer wanted to remove China from the "most favored" nations...

Now, when someone is actually doing what y'all wanted suddenly you ignore previous opinions and are against such actions as they are being taken by someone that you do not like. Politics are so weird... Republicans supporting trade wars and Democrats against reciprocal tariffs, both sides have done a 180.

Damo can't disprove/refute ONE POINT I referenced (see the Reagan & Bush years) so he blathers myopic, revisionist "what-about-ism". His ass licking of Dump & the Apartheid Punk's policies that decimate social economic and medical services while hurting farmers and small businesses is apalling!

You're free to make excuses why practically none of Trump's first term promises were fulfilled.

If he were really a genius negotiator, I don't think there would be a trail of failure in his wake.

The problem here is I didn't argue against what you said. "Free trade" is the mantra of the conservative. I agree they have done a 180 and said so in the post you quoted but didn't bother responding to.

As for the idiotic idea that it is "whataboutism"... I simply pointed out that both sides have done a 180 and I find politics super strange. You don't like the party of the person who wants to do what you've wanted for years, so what do you do? Well, you lie and say you've always wanted "free trade"... and someone in the party you are in does a 180 and starts into massive tariffs and instead of talking "free trade" you suddenly pretend that you've always wanted some massive tariffs, it's just like chocolate ice cream, everyone wants some of this...

Crazy... it's frickin' crazy.

Now, you can double down on whatever nonsense you want to say, I agree with you, but you think I wear the wrong "jersey" so now you have to super angrily object to whatever I agreed with you on.... tell me what a moron I am because I think "conservatives" have completely abandoned conservative economics to support the ideas of a person rather than the policy that makes sense... Tell me how It's "whataboutism" to agree with you... do it especially angrily, that way folks will believe you.

Why China Can’t Win a Trade War

Trump isn't a true conservative.

Your first sentence says it all.

See, when MAGA mooks can't logically or factually deny what is put in front of them, they instantly detour (move the goal post, change the subject, etc, etc.) and then profess their new assertion is the true point of discussion. If one does not accept their ruse, then they claim "victory" that magically affects the original point of discussion.

:palm: GMAFB, Damo! That crap only plays for the fool you see in the mirror and the moronic maga wonks that permeate this site.

I'll dumb it down for you: I never claimed or alluded to the Democrats being without sin on this subject. What I DID POINT OUT (of which you avoid like the plague) is that IT HAS BEEN THE REPUBLICAN PARTY THAT WAS AT THE FOREFRONT OF THE ECONOMIC POLICIES THAT HAVE GIVEN CHINA IT'S "POWER" IN THIS MATTER. Neither you or Dippy in Posts #9 or #14 can refute, disprove or rationally deny such. Hell, "reaganomics" is a matter of fact & history. If you want receipts to further humiliate your MAGA machinations, I can do so .... although arguing with zealots and flunkies is like banging one's head against the wall, as it feels so good when you stop.

So you can blather on with your variations of your failed ploy, but the chronology of the posts will ALWAYS be your undoing. Carry on.

There are tariffs, and then there are what Trump is doing with tariffs. Blanket tariffs to the whole world is the opposite of what tariffs are for. How are you protecting important interests with blanket tariffs? It is Trumpian bullying trying to push the world leaders around. They will not quietly accept Trump's childish aggression and basic misunderstanding of economics.
Trump has decided to delay the Tariffs. Any businessman will see that as a sign to prepare for the inevitable. So the impact of tariffs is immediate.
Trump is illogioca;l and ignorant.

LOL. As I predicted, when faced with someone that agreed with you about the 180 taken by republicans you simply just "more angrily" say your inane piece because then you believe "your" folks will "believe" you more for the false "anger".

I get that you also don't like that I mentioned that Democrats are suddenly are "for" all the things you hated that the Republicans were "for"... But they are. Now, say it all again, be super really angry this time. That way you will believe folks on "your side" of things will believe you are making a point of some sort.
