I think the reason Social Media turned out to be the most toxic thing we've created in a long time as a species, the REAL reason it is the atomic bomb of human interaction is because it is largely anonymous.

People don't tend to be as horrible as they are on social media (or even JPP, especially JPP) because it is anonymous. It peels away the thin veneer of civility that holds our entire society together.
