Chief Justice Roberts says personal criticism of judges is dangerous and has ‘got to stop’

The U.S. Marshals Service, responsible for protecting judges, reported 564 threats in the government fiscal year that ended in September, up from the year before. Roberts acknowledged the “serious threats” by noting Congress has responded by increasing funding for judges’ security.

What's that got to do with their shit rulings based on personal opinion and politics rather than law?

No, a good judge rules based on law and precedent. A bad judge rules on personal opinion and politics. Right now, there are a number of judges, particularly at the district court level that are doing the latter, usually appointed by Biden or Obama who get overturned repeatedly. The fact that such judges have since Trump was reelected set a record for the number of national injunctions caused the Supreme Court to all but totally strip them of the power to make such rulings, as but one example.

That should tell you something about their political bias.
When judges are right wing, they are acting properly.

No, you don't get it. Judges should rule on law not politics, but they aren't doing that, particularly on the Left.
is that like when Congress passed legislation and gave Biden the power to "Waive or Modify" loans, including student loans but because Republicans were against it the SC ruled that kanguage was not specific enough for him to "Cancel" as if "cancel" is not a "modification" of the loans?

WASHINGTON (AP) — Chief Justice John Roberts warned Tuesday that personal criticism of federal judges is dangerous and “it’s got to stop,” two days after President Donald Trump called a federal judge who ruled against the administration “wacky, nasty, crooked and totally out of control.”

Ineffectual whining from the most useless chief justice in history.

Roberts SC will be found by history to be the chief architects of this wave of decay that is infecting the US of which Trump is just a useful idiot.

It is actual extreme gerrymandering , which forced politicians to campaign to the extremes of each party, and not the middle, that set up the dynamic Trump exploited. Get rid of extreme gerrymandering and then suddenly politicians have to win more balanced districts by campaign towards the middle to gain center left and center right votes along with independents.

The reason they are doing is they are trying to lock in minority rule as part of the Heritage Foundation plan to stop majority minority rule from taking over America, as it was on the path to doing.

I don't agree.

An interesting theory.

The reason they are doing is they are trying to lock in minority rule as part of the Heritage Foundation plan to stop majority minority rule from taking over America, as it was on the path to doing.

Is that so?

In law, language has to be precise. So, yes, the Supreme Court was correct that "waive or modify" doesn't include "cancel."

On the other hand, what District Court judges, on the Left mainly, started doing once Trump took office again, was having a single plaintiff come before them suing about something the Trump administration was doing. They'd take that lawsuit and then slap a nationwide injunction on the administration stopping that action in all cases even though they had a single plaintiff in their courtroom and their jurisdiction was limited to the district they were assigned to.

The Supreme Court smacked that down permanently removing almost all ability for district court judges to make rulings that impacted anyone or area of the country outside their district. Yes, there were some, a few by comparison, cases of Rightwing judges doing likewise against Obama or Biden. But with the return of Trump to power, it became a virtual political crisis where district judges were now running the country or so it seemed.

Now, what you are seeing is those same District Court judges handing down rulings for their district that get tossed on appeal at the Appellate or Supreme Court level. In fact, just in the last week something like a half dozen such rulings came down tossing out restrictions imposed on ICE by one District Court judge or another.

If anything, politically Leftist District court judges are shooting the judiciary in the foot by fighting Trump tooth and nail on everything. They are letting politics dictate their rulings and in the long run they're losing their power to make rulings on more and more.
