Things are looking up

Do you feel the least bit sorry for the lefties at this forum by continuing to post great factual
successes under Trump's presidency? I kind of feel bad for those lefties since I-WE cannot see any of their positive responses to your threads. They (lefties) certainly can't post anything opposing the greatness being done by Trump and his administration.

These are certainly admirable goals, but the Trump administration’s trade policies have failed on all counts. The trade deficit in goods reached a record high last year, manufacturing gains achieved under the Biden administration have been reversed, and working-class wages are stagnating compared with prior gains. In fact, new Center for American Progress analysis finds that the cumulative loss in manufacturing jobs since April 2025 is equivalent to the closure of 2,800 average-size factories nationwide.

The ports are pumping, but is it enough?Cleared container volumes are surging across major U.S. ports. These are the boxes that have passed customs and are officially ready for a truck to hook up and move. While this sends a signal that things might be "okay," the real question is whether this volume is sufficient to finally turn the corner for the broader freight market.

BREAKINGThe White House is considering a temporary Jones Act waiver as gas prices climb during the Iran war.Problem: experts say it barely affects pump prices.Even full repeal of the law would cut fuel costs by only about 1–2 cents per gallon. A short-term waiver during a war would likely move prices by fractions of a cent.Translation: Americans are being handed a high-visibility “solution” that doesn’t meaningfully touch the real problem — a global oil shock driven by conflict in the Strait of Hormuz. It’s not a fix. It’s political theater.
