Straw purchasing is against the law dude. Buying guns for people who are prohibited is against the law, and makes her an accessory.

Even if she didn't know, she provided a gun to someone she should have known was a felon. It's the responsibility to your fellow citizens to make all efforts possible to not sell guns to felons and crazy people. Might not be law, but it's a common sense notion among the people I know on both coasts of this country and the folks in Iowa, where this redneck was born.


I think there is a specific gun trafficing charge she should be tried for and not accomplice, but that's without knowing anything about the relationship the two perps had. It's possible she knew his plans. Anything is possible these days.
It's just my opinion, though.

It is the law. You must reasonably believe that the person you are buying a gun for (in the case of a legal gift) or selling to (in the case of a sale) is not prohibited. In any case, you may not use someone elses money to purchase a gun, even if they are not prohibited.

Not the issue. Assault weapons shouldn't be easily available in Gander Mt./Cabelas/Walmart, etc.

She's got some charges against her - not murder accomplice - she wasn't a "driver" so she's not directly involved with the crime.

Still the Fed charges - given the lieing, and the severity -should get her about 10 years (maximum penalty) -and no(good) time off for Fed charges.
