The reality is, however, that all nations don't have the same resources,
and global trade is how the world's resources get to all the places that they're needed.

Also, the unnecessary exportation of American production was brought about by the
business decisions of corporate oligarchs willing to weaken Amwrica for their own short term profits.

Asshat strongly supported the candidate who represents those corporate oligarchs.
Despite Trump's support of tariffs, he also supports dismantling all the regulations that
prohit the oligarchs from doing anything that they want to do.

overproduction did NOT deepen the depression. In fact, it was overproduction of the military in preparation for WW2 that ended the depression.

To meet what they thought was the need, they overproduced, overproduction greatly outpaced actual demand, the equilibrium point moved to the far left, resulting eventually collapse

And what consequently what followed in the 1930’s was recession, the depression, there was no money out there, Preparation for WWII began in the late 1930’s with the Government injecting money into the economy which eventually pulled us out of the depression

Despite all the President's efforts and the courage of the American people, the Depression hung on until 1941, when America's involvement in the Second World War resulted in the drafting of young men into military service, and the creation of millions of jobs in defense and war industries.
