A simple fix for our ailing healthcare system, and it has the right-wing in a panic

Yep I mean right wing spin, Like WMD's, mushroom clouds, Pill bill only costing about a billion, etc....

The right wing chicken little fear filled dudes have lost my ear.

I didn't realise that we were afraid of socialised health care...I just thought it didn't work.

So very very simple... enjoy it America!

The same bureaucracy that fucked up Katrina and Iraq will soon be responsible for you healthcare as well!

Nah...we thought we'd actually hire some people who think government can work this time around.

The guys you're talking about? We're gonna fire their asses.

There are no waiting lists in America!

In Canada you can walk into a hospital and find people waiting for hours.

Not here!

I have relatives who live in Canada whom i travel to visit every couple of years. Every single one of them have supplemental insurance and have nothing but dislike for the public heath care.

strange since its supposed to be so great.

Funny, I have relatives who go to Cannada for 6 months of the year, they wait till they get to Cannada to seeh health care as they perfer it. I was in Cannada when my mother fell and tore ligaments in her legs. I took her to the village Doctor who sent her directly to the hospital. We were seen in less than 15 min's, X-rayed and sent home with the proper brace within 45 min's. Try getting out of any American hospital in less than 4 hours. Ohh, and by the way, this treatment was FREE!

My mother did follow up care in Cannada for another two months until she returned to Florida, all free of charge. When she came home and went in for additional PT, the bills started rolling in, and the quality of treatment went stright downhill!

The care was not free she just didn't have to pay for it she was subsidized by the affluent.

Thank god for people who create wealth huh?

Yes and people are so thirlled with the US health care system. No complaints at all.
Other than idiot unions making it so insurance is linked to your job, and thus making you more dependant than ever on your current employer (especially if you have a medical issue that won't be covered because it is "pre-existing" if you change jobs), I really don't have many complaints. There are some. Cost being one, but not nearly as much as I have heard from my Brit friend....

Free for her, unless you count the sales tax she paid while in Cannada, or the property tax she pays on the house.

So is she a Canadian duel citizen? Or perhaps worked in Canada for much of her life?

you know thats not a bad idea.. My aunt lives up in Burlington VT. im going to tell her to drop her health insurance and just travel over border for healthcare for now on.

She will get better care for free, until she meets the threshold.

overall im not opposed to healthcare reform.. and drastic reform. im willing to listen to the argument for a national single payer.. but i need facts to get behind any plan. not just fairy tail rhetoric that Hillary spews with zero backup information.
