Air-Defense Rockets Boom Above Israel as Iran Launches Retaliatory Strike

JERUSALEM/DUBAI, April 13 (Reuters) - Iran launched a swarm of explosive drones and fired missiles at Israel late on Saturday in its first ever direct attack on Israeli territory, risking a major escalation as the United States pledged "ironclad" backing for Israel.
Sirens wailed and Reuters journalists in Israel said they heard distant heavy thuds and bangs from what local media called aerial interceptions of explosive drones. The ambulance service said a 10-year-old boy was critically injured.

No, I support it. Biden is waffling between support and opposition because his base goes both ways. Biden panders shamelessly to voters. His whole shtick is to get votes and reelected. How so? The tanks Israel is using they made. The small arms Israel is using they made. Many of the bombs and PGM's they're using Israel made. The artillery Israel is using, they made...

If the US didn't protect Israel's existence, it would have been wiped out in 1948 and every year since then.

During the earliest years, it was Czechoslovakia that was Israel's critical ally (the Czechs supplied all the first-line aircraft for the Israeli Air Force for example). They supplied military equipment to the fledgling country when nobody else would. Then it was the French through 1966 that was the primary arms supplier. de Gaulle pulled out of that arrangement when France left their remaining colonial possessions in N. Africa. It was at that point the US stepped in.

By 1975 Israel was well on their way to supplying most of their own military needs internally. They had, or were on the verge of, manufacturing a supersonic fighter aircraft, a first-line battle tank, APC's, small arms, artillery, and then onto PGM's of various sorts.

I know that it's the Saudis who actual wear the towels, but I find it to be a convenient term for all jihadists.

Because the Military Industrial Complex wants it.

It will be interesting, though, to see how the much-vaunted Iron Dome holds up when a serious power is assaulting it instead of a bunch of low tech unguided 'missiles' made from pipes, which is what they've previously had to deal with.
