I learned about slavery in America in every History class I took. My son just finished his Sophomore year at OU after 12 years of public school and learned about slavery in every History class he has taken. I am confident they are not going to cancel that dark part out of American History no more than they’re going to cancel the various trails of tears and how the Native Americans were treated. Maybe I’m a bit naive though.

America should do exactly the same thing. Slavery has been white-washed for far too long.
We need to teach our real history, including the bad parts we are ashamed of. We should make certain it is never repeated or anything like it.
We need to eliminate racism. That should be our goal.
We should be able to drive down "Racism Is Wrong Highway."
Let's name things for what we want to be.
Children should attend schools with names like:
"Diversity Makes Greatness School"
"Many Cultures - One Principle"
"Strength Together"
"Everyone Is Special"
"Sharing Is Caring"
"Peace And Harmony"
"Knowledge Is Power"
"Togetherness School"
"Woke Is Good"

You're correct...and if everyone is honest, they've experienced the same...with their own education, as well as their children and grandchildren...
And you're not naive...as a teacher, you truly see what's happening... If others were paying attention, they would see that these days, there is more focus on Black History than there ever has been in the past...Many schools have elective black history courses for those students wishing to get more extensive historical information.. There are Afro-Centric Schools...Early college high schools....

It's possible that you are, just a bit. FL, for one, plans to whitewash that part of American history, pun 100% intended. Just do a search for how they plan to present it, including making it sound like slaves were "given" opportunities to learn new skills that would benefit them. No doubt they'll leave out the part that the "benefit" of these new skills were to make them more valuable to their master or any future master, since everything they produced with such skills belonged to the master, as did any children they had.

In Israel, there was no official recognition of the genocide. This is despite the efforts of Israeli lawmakers and activists going back decades who have sought to have the Jewish state recognize the mass murder of Armenians.
It would seem natural for Israel to commemorate the genocide since it is a state in part built by survivors of the Holocaust. It is well known that the perpetrators of the Armenian genocide largely escaped justice and that Adolf Hitler believed he could get away with his crimes because nothing had been done for the Armenians.

Was Climate Change a partisan issue in the beginning before Big Oil spent big money to try to influence public opinion? No. It only became partisan after lots of PR spending to discredit the science.

Do America's enemies engage in using bots and other operatives on discussion forums like this one to sew bitter discontent and division in America? Yes.
Did Putin help Trump get elected? Yes.
Was Trump surprised when he won the election? Yes. He had no idea what he was getting himself into.
Was Trump a good president? No. He abused his power. He will likely go to prison for it.
