Americans Reject Keynesian Economics

Putting people to work during high unemployment is the right thing to do even if the deficit does go up.

Government can draw on a large pool of unemployed. They can get the best prices for a job because there is no other work for the people. Bids are lower.

Think of it this way. Let's say a guy (Joe) is 50 years and has two grown sons, 25 and 26. They were all laid off from their jobs. Joe was planning on having a deck built. Doesn't it make sense for Joe to pay his sons and along with him build the deck rather than wait until everyone returns to work and then he has to pay a contractor?

The same idea applies to government spending. Why wait until the economy is booming and contractors are charging top prices and then get bids for infrastructure repair? The contractors will be happy for the work, the employees will be happy, the government saves money.....it's a win-win situation.

The biggest bonus is there will be less money for war. Remember Cheney's comment about attacking Iraq. Something along the line that it was an option and we could afford it.

Imagine 100,000 able-bodied men and women working here, in America. They're already getting paid with our tax dollars. Imagine a work force like here working on government projects.

Change. It's long overdue.

That would be at least partially true if they are creating wealth, but the only segment of the jobs market growing is the government, which can only destroy wealth.

Government slaves? cool.

Whatever "gains" the government can make in cost savings through strongariming and price fixing, are lost through cronyism and corruption.

From infrastructure to schools everyone benefits.
We'd be much better off reducing the debt and letting private folks decide what they want to spend money on instead of causing a financial burden to our kids and having the government decide what it wants to build and who to hire.
