Another breakdown of negotiations?

On April 23, Zelensky once again refused to negotiate with Russia, despite ongoing losses on the front lines.

According to Trump, Ukraine is losing up to 5,000 people per week—a number that’s hard to dismiss.

The continuation of the war without any attempts at diplomacy increases the pressure on the Armed Forces of Ukraine and is eroding the country from within.

Peace initiatives are consistently rejected, while civilians continue to live in constant danger.

Even Western allies are increasingly voicing doubts about the effectiveness of the current strategy. Do you believe the refusal to negotiate is justified, or is it a strategic mistake that could cost Ukraine dearly?

It's already cost Ukraine quite dearly. Zelensky should have taken the deal that Russia offered him near the start of the war. It's way better than any deal he can get now. The sad thing is, the longer he waits to make a deal, the worse the deal will ultimately be. As I've said elsewhere, I see no scenario where Ukraine wins this war. The best they can do is try to salvage -something- of their country. The longer they take to get to the negotiating table, the less likely that Ukraine will survive as a country at all. Trump recognizes this.

If Zelensky makes a deal to end the war with Russia, him and Trump could get assassinated. US and EU overlords make a lot of money selling weapons.

Maybe, but if Ukraine continues to refuse to make a deal with Russia (regardless of who's in charge), I highly suspect that it may cease to exist as a country at all. I'm hoping that Ukraine will work out a deal before then.

The people who run the world don't care if Ukraine exist or not. They want Russian minerals and oil.

Oh, I definitely agree that those who instigated this war have little care about Ukraine's existence. I'm just hoping that the Ukrainians themselves realize what continued war will mean.

No Russian source says privately, and no Russian will argue in print that Putin is offering Trump a “sell out”, as Paul Craig Roberts, a senior US Treasury official in the Reagan Administration, has concluded. “Putin had so badly mishandled the Ukraine conflict that his only choice was surrender or military victory, a victory he has been avoiding for more than three years.” Referring to the Witkoff term sheet, Roberts adds: “This is what the Russian oligarchs and Atlanticist Integrationists, who have never supported the war, want. How the Russia’s military feels about victory being shoved aside by a negotiated settlement is unknown. But is it a settlement?…As we can see from the facts, only two of the four parties agree to the deal. Moreover, even if there is a deal, in the absence of de jure recognition of Russia’s territorial claims, the deal amounts to little more than kicking the can down the road.”

The Russian source who has long been in a position to know explains there are good reasons for Russian strategy to take a pause. “At this point in time, we have no reason to want to fight a US president who says he doesn’t want to fight Russians. We also know he can’t lift the sanctions legally without Congress. But he can use his executive orders to stop enforcement, and that’s a break we can use to our advantage, as well to the benefit of the Chinese and Indians. We understand a bigger war is coming. The military needs two to three years of preparations, improvements, reorganization. Also, Putin needs to prove he has tried peace with the Americans, and they can’t be trusted. Russians have no illusions about the stability of US politics. This is a deal that is as stable as Trump’s mind.”

That Russia/China and all their friends are trying to buy time to get more ready for a big battle with the collapsing West I have also heard from Alexander of The Duran.

However:
"We dont need to do anything, the West is collapsing on its own"
PUTIN

Someone on my well curated grapevine said the other day that Iran now has the best of friends, Israel is close to blowing apart, the Imperial Empire is in collapse.....the best thing to do is to make a deal with America to keep Iran from being destroyed on the Empires way out.

Thing is that would cause a lot of problems for the Iranian Regime with Iranians.....it is not clear that they can do that.

Regardless, the clock is not on America's side...everyone understands that.

Except for the moronic Americans of course.

Ukraine is being gobbled up by Russia. Exactly what deal can they make with Putin, that he will honor? All a deal does is allow Putin to replenish his arms and attack again.

A ceasefire to regroup to make another attempt as they are losing is what NATO (with the possible exception of Trump) is after....what the Russians want is what they have been demanding for over a decade...... a peace deal that ends aggression against Russia and Russian speakers.

What you give us is anti-truth....the opposite of the truth.

What? Russia wants land and power over Ukraine. That is for now. They have always been expansionist. Ukraine aggression? WTF. Ukraine has lots of agriculture and resources. That is what Putin wants.

Blackrock already has claim to the agricultural land in Ukraine as well as the minerals under it. Blackrock has countless mercenaries dying for Ukrainian land.

Plus there is nothing in Ukraine that is not also in Russia in greater quantities than the Russians can exploit.....this claim that the Russian want Ukraine resources is so dumb that only the already brainwashed could believe it.
