Because we all know what Putin want. This thread literally has the word negotiations in it. Why is almost everyone so averse to actually giving it a go?
What do you think Putin wants?

In this dark age talking to Russians is considered capitulation.....and you ask this? This thread literally has the word negotiations in it. Why is almost everyone so averse to actually giving it a go?
Besides, America has not done negotiations for bout 30 years....we issue orders....and punish those who do not comply.
Peace.....to be left alone....to not have America and Europe seaking the strategic defeat of Russia as they have admitted that they have been.
To not have Russian speakers in Ukraine abused.
this our invitation to get the fuck out.Putin said he will defend Ukraine from western pillagers.
I am not 100% on this because I rarely hear it on even alt media but I have been told that since 2014 the Kiev government was removing wealth from the Donbass, spending it in the West, and letting the East Rot....that psychologically this was very important....and killed. I think 8 years of that was the last straw for Putin and Russia's leadership as a whole. I still think that Jacques Baud's article on the origins of Russia's war in Ukraine were so well done:
**
In fact, as early as February 16 [2022], Joe Biden knows that the Ukrainians began to shell the civilian populations of Donbass, putting Vladimir Putin in front of a difficult choice: to help Donbass militarily and create an international problem or to sit idle and watch Russian speakers from the Donbass being run over.
If he decides to intervene, Vladimir Putin can invoke the international obligation of “ Responsibility To Protect ” (R2P). But he knows that whatever its nature or scale, the intervention will trigger a shower of sanctions. Therefore, whether its intervention is limited to the Donbass or whether it goes further to put pressure on the West for the status of Ukraine, the price to be paid will be the same. This is what he explains in his speech on February 21.
That day, he acceded to the request of the Duma and recognized the independence of the two Republics of Donbass and, in the process, he signed treaties of friendship and assistance with them.
The Ukrainian artillery bombardments on the populations of Donbass continued and, on February 23, the two Republics requested military aid from Russia. On the 24th, Vladimir Putin invokes Article 51 of the United Nations Charter which provides for mutual military assistance within the framework of a defensive alliance.
In order to make the Russian intervention totally illegal in the eyes of the public we deliberately obscure the fact that the war actually started on February 16th. The Ukrainian army was preparing to attack the Donbass as early as 2021, as certain Russian and European intelligence services were well aware… The lawyers will judge.

good for them.I forgot the percentage (maybe 30%) but quite a few IGF pilots are refusing to report to duty because they're tired of carpet-bombing women and children.
I disagree regarding the Vietcong and the Taliban. As far as I'm concerned, it was the U.S. that had little interest in negotiating up until the point that continued military supression became untenable, at which point, all they could do was evacuate. Perhaps more importantly, from what I've read, both the wars in Vietnam and Afghanistan were based on lies. This is pretty firmly established in the case of Vietnam with the second gulf of Tonkin incident:I’m not. I’m just saying if the people of Ukraine are insistent on resisting. That would be their decision. This thread literally has the word negotiations in it. Why is almost everyone so averse to actually giving it a go?

Not only were they being terrorized, not only was NATO building a massive army to come after them, but they had been economically strangled for nearly a decade is the story....the people of the Donbass, and the Russians, knew without a doubt what was happening.I wouldn't be surprised, but even if it wasn't, they certainly angered the eastern side with their suppression of the east sides' ties to Russia and the Russian language. I think this may have come to a head during the Odessa massacre. I think Russian historian Evgeny Norin wrote a good article on this a few months after Russia's war in Ukraine began:

So dumb that Trump demanded rights to Ukraine's rare earth deposits to stop the war.Plus there is nothing in Ukraine that is not also in Russia in greater quantities than the Russians can exploit.....this claim that the Russian want Ukraine resources is so dumb that only the already brainwashed could believe it.
