Rep. Bill Posey (R-FL) has expressed his opposition to a public option at Town Hall events stocked with insurance company Astroturfers.

Ironically, as a member of Congress Posey receives health care benefits remarkably better than those proposed in the reform packages under consideration. Hypocrite Posey also received free health care courtesy of taxpayers during his years in the Florida Legislature.

Taxpayers pay up to 70 percent of Congress members’ premiums.

Meanwhile, in the real world, 47 million Americans have no health care and many are dying for lack of it every day.

During a Town Hall a real citizen (not an insurance lobby shill) asked Posey, “Why should taxpayers pay for your insurance when you clearly make enough money to pay for it on your own?”

After reading the question aloud, Posey replied sarcastically, “One of the perks of the job, I guess!”

Posey then stated his unwillingness to extend guaranteed, affordable, quality insurance to all Americans.

now this I can agree with..we should make EVERY last one of these pos in office pay for their OWN heath insurance, like the rest of us do..

yea, something we finally agree on...

"like the rest of us do.." Are you absolutely sure of that statement?

What mememe! doesn't realize is that 47 million can't pay for their own insurance, either because the premiums are too high, or because insurance company Death Panels refuse to cover them.

so that must mean we need to shit on those other 300 million people to give a few some..

people are seeing just what this health care bull is really all about by this commie administration..and I guess they don't be liking it so much, eh?

and employers are paying for so many more even when they're stealing time on company computers.(I'll bet I didn't make many friends with that one.) The fact is that health costs are escalating at a far faster rate than the US economy, how long will it be before business can no longer buy health insurance for employees and remain competitive? Autos already have a healthcare cost of $1500 to $1700 added in, the end is growing near. Drop the insurance or move the jobs overseas, what other answer is there?

Good point. I wonder how many of the teabagging posters on this board and others are ripping off their employers by posting on company time on company computers.

Maybe we can look into that.

we're on the same boat....everyone in the country should pay their own insurance....

Well it's Sunday. Why not make the same comment on Tuesday when there will be actual significant numbers of people stealing time from their company computers?

Shouldn't all the good religious righties be hearing the white supremacist rant from their megachurch pastor today?
