For those who may forget Arnold was before Obama in claiming to be 'post partisan'. Yeah, that's turned out well. He came into office claiming he would 'blow up boxes' of government waste etc. Our state is now damn close to going broke. One thing I will grant him is that thanks to redistricting no races in our state are close and therefore we get more extremists on both sides in the legislature making 'working together' damn near impossible in this state.

But all Arnold wants to talk about is global warming and how he wants to pass these expensive new global warming programs while our state has a $42 billion budget deficit and is about to go broke. Our state is a joke.

Caw, California voters really have to place the blame on themselves.

They voted to change the constitution to make it amendable by 50%.

Then they voted to force legislatures to pass redistricting plans by 2/3 support. Good idea huh? Especially when it lead to the situation you described, where the Republicans use their incredible leverage to force the Democrats to gerrymander for everyone.

Then they voted to require tax raises to be voted on by a 2/3 margin also. MAN! WE'RE REALLY STICKING IT TO THE MAN! FUCK THE SCHOOL CHILDREN!

Then you get the most draconian three strikes law in the entire world that no one probably even though about before voting a yes on, they get rid of justices who commit the atrocity of being opposed to the death penalty, and they vote down gay rights.

Man, I'm loving direct democracy. This is what our founders wanted the nation to be like.

Ultimately I guess a real fiscal conservative cannot get elected in California. I should probably be more thankful to Arnold than I am for some of the things he has vetoed but he's still a big disappointment.

The problem is that money gets spent as soon as it comes in during the good times and then we find ourselves where we are today when the money stops flowing. Zero long term planning. Yeah you can totally "save up" money and have it eaten away by inflation over the years. Why not just go into debt? Oh yeah, the genius California voters voted in a balanced budget amendment.

I guess we don't need to teach kids math, we need to lock up pot smokers for life instead.

Arnold tried to be a bit fiscally Conservative with those 4 ballot initiatives but when voters rejected all 4 of them, it's like he just decided "if you can't beat em, join em", and he's pretty much been a regular Liberal ever since.

He's also responsible for that after school social welfare program. Just another Liberal Repub giving the party a bad name and letting lefties blame problems on right-wing ideology when it's really RINOs doing left-wing things.
