Cory Booker’s sad stunt epitomizes Democrats’ empty agenda

Speaking with passion about issues doesn't tell me anything, though...That's fine...if you don't want to talk about specifics I'll respect that... (However... I'm being the opposite of dismissive...I'm asking questions because you said it was awesome....You're the one dismissing them...)

You want the specific content from a 24+ hour speech?

What did he say? Without looking it up, do you know? I sure as hell don't. Meaningless gesture.

I watched about 3 hours of it. He talked a lot about policy, and about the contrasting vision that Dems should have against what Trump is doing.

Dems were fired up afterwards, and still are. People have called it a defining moment. I wouldn't say it was meaningless at all. Probably meaningless for MAGA's.

Fuck you asshole. You supported the assassination of your president so, fuck you!

It won't be a defining moment at all. In a week it'll be forgotten by everyone but Guinness who will make a footnote in their book of records, maybe, on it. It won't be quoted or memorialized as a notable quote for some significant line or two. It was performance politics and nothing more.

This is all the Democratic Party of Lying Jackasses has; lie filled TDS laced rhetoric.

Anyone ask a Democrat what their policy agenda is? You’ll get a blank stare and “BUT TRUMP!”

Cory Booker’s sad stunt epitomizes Democrats’ empty agenda

Sen. Cory Booker’s pointless imitation filibuster epitomizes Democrats’ pathetic incoherence in the wake of last November’s defeats.

The New Jerseyan took to the floor not to achieve something, or even to oppose anything in particular, but as a stunt to symbolize how these are not normal times.

Which, actually, nobody who paid any attention denies.

The self-promoting, 25-hour marathon drew a few curious viewers online, and might have spoken to those in the party’s left-wing base who are still fuming that Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) didn’t force a government shutdown last month.

This thread is a nice example of the dufus mentality still alive and well in Trump World. Cory Booker's marathon drew 350 million likes.

You implied that my opinion is wrong. I asked you show some statement Booker made in that longwinded speech that shows it was significant in some way beyond just its length.

Not saying it wasn't a great speech - the parts I saw were articulate, passionate & moving.

It was significant because it galvanized Democrats. It was inspirational - everything about it. The content & delivery were important, but not as important as the moment he created w/ a marathon speech that broke the previous record.

As if that moved the needle so-to-speak. Democrats are galvanized against Trump already. What stymes them is how they're getting no traction with the public on that. What the Democrats are groping about for is something that will make their positions popular but being against deporting criminals and persons in the country illegally doesn't have popular support. Being against voter ID laws doesn't have popular support. Being for expanding government doesn't have popular support. You get the idea here. Currently, the Democrats are on the wrong side of most issues and have doubled down on staying there. That's why they have abysmal polling numbers and declining support.
