what does it mean to pay one's debt to society if one is then forever forbidden from participating?
not necessarily... fewer citizens participating in our government - certainly. but I imagine you think that's a good thing, eh son?

you mean like being able to keep and bear arms after one pays their debt to society?
if they pay their debt and participate in government, they can change the gun laws, can they not? If they cannot participate in government, they are powerless.you mean like being able to keep and bear arms after one pays their debt to society?

the right way is to vote...period... to participate... what party they vote for is certainly none of my business, nor yours.
Or more simply and principled, felons opted to live outside society so thats where you leave them. What reasons could there be?
Studies show that felons who have been denied the right to vote are far more likely to vote for Democrats than Republicans.
