Detroit Lions

Many analysts are not only picking them to win the toughest division this year but are even talking Super Bowl

What the hell?

I can't read Tinker's redacted post,
but for what it's worth,
I did watch the Lions on television
when they won their last NFL championship in 1957.

I had recently reached the age of eleven,
and the team had such stalwarts as
Bobby Layne, Hopalong Cassady, Leon Hart, Yale Lary, and Joe Schmidt.

I don't know if any of them are still alive,
but I doubt it.

How tough will the NFC North be this season? The Packers won't be anything special. The Vikings will be mid again, and I don't know if the Da Bears have done enough to avoid sucking again.

As a long time Lions fan believe me when I tell you that you should never underestimate their ability to fuck things up. They had a good last half of the season last year...that doesn't make them champions and I wouldn't be surprised if the Packers finish ahead of them this season.

Some are saying the Lions may even make it to the Super Bowl.

That would be a nice change even if my Vikings don't make it.

However the Jets have our star running back and Aaron Rodgers so expect them to do well also.

Hot takes are so reliable. The Lions might finish a game over .500...maybe.

They won't win the division. If they make the playoffs they'll lose the wild-card game.

That's the thing about sports, you never know.

There have been many cases of a team going far who weren't expected to.

Look at the movie Slap shot.

lol

But I believe you are correct. the Vikings have made great improvements during the off season so I don't see Detroit winning the division.

Maybe I should put some minor bets down.

Still the North is expected to be the toughest division this year.

We still have yet to see how the Packers do with Love as QB.

They have a tradition of great QB's.

You know why I'm down on the Lions this season? Their linebackers still suck. That's why they won't go anywhere.

Most teams have positions that suck.

The vikings cornerbacks and safety's suck.

We cut loose one of the best running backs in the league.

Every team has weak spots.
