Hmmm... do you think there is a tipping point of sorts where the normally disinterested citizen same "thats it" over all the ads and does something unexpected ? Like refusing to vote (more than usual) or (gasp) going 3rd party !

Political ads are typically targeted towards the undecided voter who is commonly misnamed the "independent" voter.

They will not sway hardcore partisans who are the party's base.

I agree that many like to think of themselves as independant as a sort of self defense and some percentage of them will vote differing parties oj occasion.
