Socialism crashed our economy? No. IT was the securitization of bad loans by PRIVATE BANKS and then ALSO BETTING AGAINST those same bad assets they created. You're simply a misinformed cretin.

Didn't government strong arm banks into giving loans? Bad loans.
 
Were the banks strong armed into repackaging them, slapping a AAA rating on them and selling them to as many big institutions as possible, and then placing a side bet against them with AIG? Were they strongarmed into that?
