House bill would make health care a right

Kellermann still remembers the young mother of two who came into his emergency room more than 15 years ago, suffering from a hemorrhagic stroke.

"We worked for 90 minutes to save her life, but basically she had burst a blood vessel in her head. She didn't have a chance," he says. "She had no health insurance, and when the money got tight, she had to make a choice — she could either buy the groceries for her kids, or she was going to buy the three blood pressure medicines she had to take every day."

Sadly, Kellermann says, for less than the cost of that futile, 90-minute effort in the ER, the woman could have had all the blood pressure medication she needed for the rest of her life.

Obviously you haven't seen the documentary about the horrors of medical care in Europe.

so it's only up to the neocons to do something about this...it's the friggen Democrats who are pushing it...you all do something for a change, instead of just sitting around bitching..or this is just another thing you can blame on Republicans

Just heard there were shots at Capital Hill. Suspect is dead.

President Obama's health care overhaul cleared its first hurdle in Congress on today as his campaign organization rolled out television ads to build support for his top domestic priority.

Democrats respond to Obama's call for action with renewed determination.

"We have delivered on the promise of real change," Sen. Christopher Dodd, D-Conn., said as he presided over the Senate health committee vote. It was a reference not only to the bill but also to Obama's campaign promise.

The president was in the Rose Garden for the latest in a daily series of public appeals to Congress to "step up and meet our responsibilities" and move legislation this summer. Obama also conducted a number of network television interviews to push his message.

It's called the United States. You may have heard of it.

It isn't the poor that aren't covered, it's those between poor and middle middle class. The poor will get treatment, they also have funds available for government options.

I don't think zippie has heard of ACCCHS.
