How did you vote and why?

Out of curiosity, I'm wondering how you voted (for President) this time, but also in 2004 and in 2000 and a brief reason why.

Here are mine:

2008 - Bob Barr, because he's the closest, anti-war candidate to my beliefs. Ron Paul (or other libertarians) would have been preferred, but Barr was the closest, if imperfect choice for me.

2004 - John Kerry, because Bush had to be defeated, no matter what. Kerry was statistically the best chance at the time. Badnarik was perhaps a little too anarcho-capitalist for me: he doesn't even own a driver's license (I understand the idea behind it, but come on).

2000 - Ralph Nader, because I used to be a Green before I discovered libertarianism.

Voted against McCain (for Obama), Mcconnel, and again for the only rep in congress I have voted for Chandler.

voted for one republican in local office.

Sorry to say this uscitizen, but it looks like Mitch is gonna win.

I voted for Bush in 2000 because I thought he was the best for the job.

I voted for some independent candidate that was on the ballot in OK in 2004 because I saw that I was wrong about Bush but couldn't bring myself to vote for Kerry.

I will vote for Cynthia McKinney today as a protest for the lack of suitable candidates in the 2 major parties for me. I would have voted for any of the following without reservation - Huckabee, Brownback or Richardson.

I voted for Obama, Erik Fleming, Ronnie Musgrove, Gene Taylor, and Oliver Diaz for supreme court. Basically, the Democrat on every vote and the most liberal supreme court justice running (Mississippi's courts are non-partisan but Diaz is allied with the democrats).

yeah I figure Mitch will win. but I did what I could.

I would say there are pretty solid odds for a Mitch win. The Republicans are also looking like they are going to win in Mississippi, because Roger Wicker pulled way out in front in the polls in the last week. Georgia and Minnesota are pretty much tossups, but if the dems win both they'll have their super majority. The Democrats are almost certain to win every other close race, so they'll have at least 58 seats in the senate.

I voted Democrat except for County Coroner. The Incumbent Coroner was just increasing costs by over 10% a year for the past 8 years. Time for a switch.

I surprised myself, because I don't usually vote based on D or R, but this election was pretty much straight D once I looked over my ballot again. I also voted for a school levy, but voted no on a library levy renewal. Yes on Ohio Issue 5, No on an amendment to the Ohio Constitution for a casino. Not because I don't agree with gambling, but because the amendment was poorly written. I couldn't research the judges well enough so I just didn't cast a vote for them.

I really DESPISE the holier-than-thou attitude so many independents have.

Well, ironhead not so much, but by they, i just mean them. Republicans, independents, and even conservative dems. The other day on Morning Schmo, was the best example of this. That f'ing fool Willie Geist went to the upper west side and tried to sell mccain palin tshirts to passerbys. And the people were really nice about it actually, but they all said no. Well, the morning schmo team was so upset by this! My god didn't they even want to listen to what he had to say? That's why people hate the left. (mike barnicle who is definitely voting for obama said this). it's just astonishing, wtf are you talking about? outside of palin rallies you have lines of people screaming out the n word. And a bunch of polite people have you upset because they dont' want to buy your stupid tshirt?

They always want liberals to be ashamed of being liberal. And I wonder, why the fuck would I be?

Have you thought that he was carrying out reforms that would make it easier to solve murders with that 10% over 8 years?

I think it's frankly ridiculous that we vote for coroner anyway. It's not a position in which people make many decisions, and it limits the talent pool a lot if you require a coroner to run for office in order to get a job. The mayor should appoint coroners

Judges shouldn't be elected either. That goes against the founders intentions. And 90% of the voters don't research the judges anyway.

I know you are lying because New Yorkers are not nice about anything.

He was actually adding a new staff position just about every year. He didn't do any of the work and gave himself a good chunk of change just to tell people what to do. I would rather the coroner be an actual coroner, not a Supervisor to the Coroners office.

Yeah. That's what I'm talking about - things like that shouldn't be politicized. Jacksonian democracy was idiotic.

Badnarik in 2004
Ron Paul write in in 2008.

This year I voted for three ballot questions:

Voted yes to repeal state income tax
Voted yes to decriminalize marijuna for an ounce or under
Vote no on banning dog racing, because I hate restrictions and don't care enough about dogs.
