It's certainly lost the moral right. Unpicking its legal right might take a while- as that involves changing the ruling political class in the US . Do-able though , with patience and tenacity.

Which is not even true by the way. Iran had a right of self defense following article 51 of the UN Charter after the Israeli strike on its consulate. They only targeted military sites and didn't kill a single person.

Whereas Israel's attack on the Iranian consulate was of course a flagrant violation of international law, as it was an almost unprecedented breach of the Vienna Convention on the inviolability of diplomatic premises.
