Yes. We the People, and not the government, should be making all the decisions about our personal lives and about the education of our children.

Frankly, if schooling is forthwith paid via taxation then education should be entirely voucher-based so that every parent has complete control over how his money is spent regarding the education of his children.

Big deal. Make all schools voucher-based. People who live where there are only "public" schools can select the school they prefer and hand that school the voucher. Done. Add new private schools in the future and those that want their children to attend the new school can hand over their vouchers to that school. No school or government should have any power over parental decisions, especially not any financial power.
