I think even after this huge victory your prob right. Dems won't have the spine to do what's right. They will take the easy road, legalize the 20 million here banking on them getting most of that vote.
 
Just watch unemployment skyrocket after employers are forced to pay for insurance on employees that don't bring enough profit to cover the premiums. You dolts who liked this shit don't seem to understand the class warfare going on. In oregon, they just passed a law to collect tax on small business revenues(not profits!!) to make up for those companies that operate at a loss. You can end up owing taxes despite not profiting.

THIS MEANS if it costs too much to insure low wage employees, you can't write it off to avoid the new taxes, so you will lose if you hire employees.

Who keeps running a business when it's not making a profit?

I honestly don't know why people are so sympathetic towards small business. If a business can't afford to pay minimum wage and insurance for an employee then the person running the business shouldn't be in business!

Then why did they make it so easy to just pay a much smaller fine and let the government handle it?
 
If they want me on their side for once, and really wanted to show balls, revamp the drug laws. End the farce of "freest nation" when we have the highest per capita prison inmates and a prison industry. If people want to destroy their lives with drugs, let them. Put them in prison for making other people victims, selling to children, etc. not for choosing to use drugs. This won't happen, of course, the prison industry funds the coffers of both sides, and we already know the Ds answer to the Big Pharma and other large donors as quickly as any other politician defers to their corporate masters...

Right, the incredibly small fines pretty much ensures that people who have a hard time affording it will wait until they need it before "purchasing" insurance, this will cripple the companies and force the government to come up with a "solution".

The legislation is designed to kill private markets and force the government to create a socialist solution. There is more than one reason that republicans and democrats had bipartisan agreement in rejecting this bill. Unfortunately for us the people who thought about the nation overall lost and the Democrats caved to Big Pharma and other corporate masters.

Everybody wins with a universal plan. Drugs will be included increasing the drug company's profits. The demand for more drugs will lower the cost and everyone requiring them will receive them.

It works in other countries just fine. It doesn't make any sense to say the US can't do it.
