IF!

OK. Now be sensible and answer my questions. Try not to be quite so obviously thick.

Ok, here we go.
Yes there are several unions for government employees.
Too many to list.
Police unions.
Fire unions.
Teachers unions.
Postal unions.

The members of these unions claim that guns are not needed to protect against an oppressive government.
Because the government isn't oppressive.
That is the claim of the anti gun left and the obamacult.

Why then do so many GOVERNMENT employees need to be in unions?

The given purpose of the trades unions is to protect workers from exploitation by oppressive employers.

They work for the government and say it isn't oppressive but join a union to protect them from the oppression of the non oppressive government.

Now, from where I'm standing that is a complete contradiction.

Your questions are pointless, but many have been answered.

Some had no answer, for example "are the employers oppressive"?

The union members say that guns are not needed to protect against an oppressive government.

Yet they join unions to protect them from oppression from their employers( in this case the government)!

So is the government oppressive or not?

It must be terrible to live where 'any and all comers' threaten your life. Still, you are ready for anything so I guess you are happy in your stupidity. Have a nice day (that's what americans say, isn't it?)
All comers are those who come with the intent to do harm.
You trying to say that there is no risk, no violence or no crime where you live?

I am ready to protect myself if and when trouble comes.
Always have been.
I know exactly what is needed to eliminate a threat, I know exactly what humans are capable of.
I have seen it many times.
I am prepared.
You have your head in the sand, hoping the government will protect you if and when the shit hits the fan.
I learned in the UK that the government cannot be trusted.
Dogma before people, that's the political way.
NULAB dogma said criminals were victims of society and empowered them.
Obamacult dogma is pushing the same ideas here.

You call me stupid?
I would be stupid if I did nothing to protect myself.
I was stupid in my trust of government in the past, I learned the hard way that promises of safety are unrealistic, true safety is your own responsibility.
I am safe from all comers.
You are not.

There is terrible risk where I live. Sometimes sea birds shit nearly hits you, sometimes you go to sleep in the sun and get burned. There are even times when a car might run into the back of another. So I know all about danger.

If guns are not needed to protect against oppressive government.....................................

Government oppression being a conservatard myth........................................

Why do government employees join unions to protect them from oppressive employers?

You are comparing apples and oranges. Guns cause violence and death. Labor unions provide a united political voice for workers. What is it you are really trying to say. Your logic is convoluted. Sorry, your post makes no sense.

No crime at all then?
You liar.

Guns cause no such thing .
More violence and death exists in areas of strict gun control.
Think Chicago for example!
Or even Connecticut!

Empty prejudice and hate.
Tell me about Fiona Bone again?

And that incident is worse than you adopted nation's record. Oh well that explains a lot.
65 shootings in a year. Better pack and move to America!
Fuckwit!

How many mainland UK police shot to death in the 25 years preceding Blair's gun ban?
How many since?

Better yet, how many crimes involving automatic weapons occored prior to 1997?

How many after?

Keep your irrelivant nose out of USpolitics

Foreigners are not fit to criticise the greatest nation on earth!
So fuck off inferior being!

IF

A mediocre song by Bread

A lesson for life by a certain Mr. Kipling, who made exceedingly good poetry.

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master,
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

Rudyard Kipling (1865-1936)

So you will sidestep the issue, refuse to answer your dogmas inconsistencies?

Very typical.

First year high school English lit.
Every 12 yo used to read it, until Blair banned it.
Kipling was apparently a racist!
