It's the ravages of the drug war. Kidnappings and murders have risen exponentially in all of those south American states since the 1980's, especially Columbia.

And guess what. Drugs are still profitable. Good job, guys.

Cell phone records showed he was 2 hours away at the time of the crime.
None of the physical evidence at the scene linked to him.
Eric had TEN WITNESSES that testiefied to him being in another location at the time of the murder (most were not allowed to testify in court however)

This guy was railroaded because of anti-american sentiment in nicaragua. Witnesses, and other evidence was not allowed to be admitted. This is great he was released.
