Israel really doesn't have subs that can easily operate off Iran. They currently have just one Dolphin class coastal diesel submarine stationed in the Red Sea. A more capable class is being built in Germany but won't be delivered until 2027 at the earliest.

One could have shot some missiles....I am rather surprised if they did not.

I am remembering a report that the children of Washington asked Iran to allow a pretend strike from Israel...."Then this can be all over"...
