I have never understood it.

There is something particularly ugly about anti-Semitism. Maybe because it is a poison that has existed for two thousand years. Islamophobia in this country seems to be a fairly recent form of degenerate bigotry. That doesn't make it more tolerable, it just doesn't have the ancient history that anti-Jewish bigotry does.

The Talmud says, "Come and hear: If one finds therein a lost object, then if the majority are Israelites it has to be announced, but if the majority are heathens it has not to be announced" Baba Mezi'a 24a.
