Just in time for November

Ok, Indisputable, there are several problems with your lambasting the Democrats for this action.

First of all, in the last several years 16 states have loosened the restrictions on felons voting.

Second of all, a measure much like the one you are trying to smear the Democrats with was signed by the Republican governor of Nebraska. So please try and clarify whether its one party of both.

Third of all, the fact that usc made a comment about the Republican governor of Virginia is not getting off topic. In fact, it seems like a common tactic of yours.

I just found another little detail you forgot to mention, Indisputable.

Or perhaps you didn't research the topic enough to know.

In 1997, Gov. George W. Bush signed a law eliminating a two-year wait before prisoners ending their parole could vote.

Was he a Democrat back then? Maybe he was taking a play from the Clinton notebook? But wait, Clinton hadn't done his famous pardoning then.

Hmmmmm

or so they can vote for whomever they choose.

this is America where the majority are supposed to rule. If the majority are lawbreakers then perhaps we are not doing things just right ?

Not really. In America the senators and president are supposed to be elected by a bunch of elites and the House has less power than the other two, especially if they gang up on it.

Its only since that motherfucker Andrew Jackson became president that we've come to view things this way...

Changing the law is fine. So is pardoning felons so they can vote, if the law allows it, and in Virginia, it does.

What's your beef? Mighty defensive of your fellow 'Crats, aren't you?

What's our beef?

You seem to have a huge beef with all this. You started this rant like you were bringing us proof that the Democrats are the emodiment of evil.

I guess finding out that Republicans do the same thing might have spikled your fun.

Seems to me what the VA governor is doing is legal.

Here's the entire post: Under Virginia's constitution, convicted felons lose their right to vote for life. In the Commonwealth of Virginia, the restoration of the right to vote is not automatic. Some say convicted felons comprise the largest bloc of unregistered voters in Virginia.

Unable, or unwilling to change the law, Virginia 'Crats have turned to the tried and true BJ Clinton method of conferring rights on convicts - executive pardon!

What a happy coincidence - the Governor is a Democrat!

The felons will get the right to hold public office from their pal the Gov, too.

Bernard Henderson, deputy secretary of the Commonwealth, whose office will process the pardons, said he "will divert staff to do this". What a guy!

Henderson, who said so far he's only getting about 35 applications a week, notes - without irony - that many applications come from felons seeking to have their right to obtain guns restored.

Not to be outdone, Maine (Democrat Governor) and Vermont (thanks to former Governor Howard "Screamin'" Dean) allow felons to vote from jail.

Meanwhile, Speaker Pelosi (D-CA) is working hard to make voting legal for the estimated 12 million illegal immigrants currently in the USA.

Yes, that's change we can believe in!
"

Can't seem to find the "evil" in it

No mention of illegality.

Just facts.

I'm certain the generous Governor of Virginia has no political motivation whatsoever for his noble actions.

I am equally sure Gov George W. Bush did what he did out of the goodness of his heart and a deep concern for the convicted felon's ability to vote.
