Liability insurance should be required on firearms.

That's just Yurt being his standard, clueless douchey self.

"How is a gun hazardous material...?"

ZOMG it is DESIGNED to kill...it's primary function is to KILL.

Yurt knows this, it's just another attempt to divert the discussion.

are we then acknowledging that police are not there to protect us, but to kill us?

just because something is designed to kill, does not mean it is a hazardous material.

It is on cars why not on guns?

At least if they are taken off the owners property.

Followed liability insurance on all:

cell phone users, pot smokers, drug users, pet owners, anyone that owns knives of any kind, bicycle riders, people with golf clubs, etc.

I don't think it would work. Transporting hazardous materials and otherwise doing business with them or say driving a car for example, are not constitutionally protected rights. Owning and bearing arms is. So you cannot compel people to own liability insurance for a gun and sans that, deny them their second ammendment rights. That won't fly.

You can own and bear em on your own property.
And there are already laws against bearing. Concealed without permit is banned most places, and open carry is banned in many states.

15 States allow open carry, without any restrictions; 44 States allow open carry in various forms.

You were saying??

OH and most criminals don't open carry; because it kind of alerts the victim(s).
