This guy sounds like Dixie--not in reality.

If you read anything on McCain he has been a seat of the pants kind of guy. Basing decisions and such on gut feelings instead of logic and such.

Too bad his gut has gotten old and unreliable.

Well, I hate to say it, but the polls ARE tightening this week. Rasmussen has it at 3% today, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Gallup even closer later on.

If McCain is within 2-3% on Monday, he can win, easily. It's a drag, and very hard to imagine, but it's true.

all the cheating will help.

if its too wide they cant pull it off but if they get within a couple of points they can cheat enough to give him the election.

If he wins this election the US is going to explode underneath him.

"If he wins this election the US is going to explode underneath him."

People are going to lose it. If the right thought there was anger about Bush, they'll be bowled over by what they see w/ McCain.

He won't be able to lead...

I am afraid the US is going to explode no matter who wins. Too much partisanship and division has grwon in the last 8 years or more. that combined with the rascism and economic troubles. I recently bought $500 more ammo.

Take that 8 years back to 16 years. I have never seen two presidents hated more by the "other side" than Bill Clinton and George W. Bush. I wouldn't want to be either Obama or McCain right now.

He may be gaining ground nationally, but in the individual states he's still doing rather poorly. That will likely change as I expect the state numbers to tighten up as Tuesday nears in accord with the national numbers, but McCain still has a long way to go to make this thing competitive.

McCain basically has to run the table in Georgia, North Carolina, Montana, North Dakota, Indiana, Florida and Missouri, which are all toss ups at this point while also taking Ohio, New Mexico, Colorado and Nevada, which are all leaning Obama, while also taking one of Virginia, Iowa or Pennsylvania, which are all at Obama +5 or more.

I'm not saying that it can't happen, but it seems unlikely.

If Obama wins by the landslide that he should win by ( sans the cheating) you wont see any problems except by some right wing nutbag going all Murrah building on us.

If McCain wins this country will be in big trouble.

There will one very pissed off electorate ready to march in the streets and protest every minute they can. It will be an unpresedented time.

I have donated time in this election to the Dem party and in the Obama canpaign, these people all know about the cheating that has been taking place. They will not sit idly by and accept another stolen election folks. The young people themselfs will make the 60s look like a walk in the park.

Yeah liberal became a curse word during the Reagan years.
And of course the backlash from the liberals.
Seems to coincide a bit with the demise of the fairness doctrine and the rise of Rush style pundits. Just an observation.

For the life of me I cannot figure out why the polls are tightening so much. McCain has done nothing to deserve it. Obama has done little to cause it.

There was an article on RCP this morning about this. They said it's a pre-election kind of "buyer's remorse," where voters take a last second to reconsider a non-incumbent candidate who seems to be cruising for a win. They referenced races all the way back to Nixon-Humphrey.

I think the socialist propoganda is starting to resonate, as well. McCain has succeeded in putting Obama back in the "risky" category for some.

That coupled with the Democrat nut that keeps insisting there will be a "Constitutional Crisis" because Obama cannot meet the requirements...

He's now including a request for proof of citizenship papers after the return from Indonesia as a boy and going to the SCOTUS hoping for a hearing. FOX, I believe is what they said, interviewed him yesterday for airing today and are going to accompany him as he turns in the paperwork at the SCOTUS...

He says that if Obama cannot produce evidence that he reapplied for citizenship after being a citizen of Indonesia at that time (couldn't go to school in Indonesia otherwise and there was no dual citizenships back then) then he can't even hold a Senate seat.

Trust me - no one aside from right-wing nutters are talking about that. That has no effect on polls right now.

Oh, and Fox changed the pic & headline on their sight, asking "what are they hiding" about the LA Times not releasing a photo of Obama toasting some extremist (with a story right underneath that about how the Palestinians love Obama, and hey! McCain is rallying with Joe the Plumber today!)

I guess the LA Times doesn't like showing him drinking alcohol.

Wow, I wish I asked Joe the Plumber a question.... I could be running for Congress! ;)

No. That is not having any impact on anyone but the true nutters our there that would never vote for Obama anyway (folks like Dixie and Southern Man).

By the way, his case has been dismissed.

It's getting more legs than you think, and more than "nutters" listen to talk radio.

I've been stunned at how far its gotten.

There is this thing called an "appeal". Trust me. I heard him on the radio this morning talking about it.
