If the lefties really care about raising the "minimum wage" and want the poor out of poverty, then why don't they raise it to a meaningful number?

Lefties NEVER want to solve a problem. They just want the issue. They want to keep coming back to the minimum wage EVERY other year or so to keep class divisions going. Additionally, lefty democrats don't really want people out of poverty. They want to keep them in poverty. That way they can keep them voting democrat so the goodies keep on coming.

Now to be fair, the Chamber of Commerce is just as much a welfare whore as the democrat base, just in different ways. They want to use the power of government to make their jobs easier. Competing is hard. The free market is hard. It is easier to bribe a congressman than make the consumer happy. The Chamber of Commerce is just as scared of the Tea Party as the left is because the Tea Party sees through their crony capitalist bullshit.

Where did you get the idea that we do? "The 1%" are a huge drag on the economy, they actively undermine democratic activities at home and abroad, and they need to be gotten rid of.

With regards to Clinton and Bush: That really doesn't have much to do with anything. Clinton, in his support of NAFTA, and various other enforcements of a vicious kind of capitalism, can't be aligned with the left.
