No chance for a Trump Presidency

During an appearance on CNN's "State of the Union," Sen Bill Cassidy (R-LA) made a strong case that there is little to no chance that Donald Trump will ever be president again.

Speaking with host Jake Tapper, the conservative from Louisiana was asked about the host of Republicans now jumping into the race to be the GOP's 2024 presidential nominee and was asked if Trump has a chance in the general election.

According to Cassidy, a look at what happened to Trump-endorsed candidates in the 2022 midterms provides a window into what the former president can expect if he makes it through the GOP primaries.

After host Tapper brought up comments made by Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) that he, President Joe Biden and Trump are the only viable candidates, Cassidy laughed and interjected, "A couple of things: I don't think Trump can win a general election but that is a nice way for him to dispense with people like Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) who is a pretty formidable candidate. You have to take this as a competitor trying to dis others."

Turning to Trump, he continued, "On the other hand, during the last election cycle we saw in all the swing states -- almost all -- Georgia, Pennsylvania, Nevada and Arizona, that Trump's, the candidates for Senate that Trump endorsed all lost.

"If you had taken the votes that went to other Republicans and put them together, those Republicans would have won," he elaborated. "So I think the president's kind of high profile endorsement of those candidates actually hurt those candidates, at least in the general election."

"So if past is prologue, that means president Trump is going to have a hard time in the swing states, which means he cannot win a general election," he summed up.

There's not much chance for another Biden term if he's not on the ticket...;)

We've already had one Trump Administration.

Those of us who allowed it to happen better hope that hell doesn't exist.

No chance for a Trump Presidency?

I am going to go ahead and say it- I Do not think there is much if a chance for a Republican Presidency!

For one good reason- THE REPUBLICANS ARE OUT OF TOUCH WITH THE AVERAGE AMERICAN FAMILY.

Republicans seem to be on the wrong side of every issue being discussed at the dinner table's of the American Families.

American Families are not- and do not even want to be discussing Transsexuality, School Bathrooms, Hunter Biden, PRO-LIFE AGENDAS, Border Issues, BLM, WOKE, Guns, the 2nd Amendment, School Vouchers, protecting Tax Breaks for the rich, the Pardoning of Criminals, CONSPIRACY THEORIES, BLAMING EVERYTHING ON BIDEN, Protecting Big Oil interests, Protecting Trump from prosecution, Defending Donald Trump's crimes, INVESTIGATIONS INTO THE 1/6 COMMISSION, Forgetting about 1/6, fears of Cheating in Elections, the fear of Mail-In-Ballots, BUT THAT SEEMS TO BE THE ONLY THING THE REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES ARE TALKING ABOUT.

The Republican Party has turned radical and mean-spirited, and the average American Family has realized it, and finds this unacceptable and OUT-OF-TOUCH with the issues that affect them the most- and what they care about the most.

But do keep running your hateful lying mouths TRUMPTARDS! Amp up the hate and insanity even more- Because you are going to discover one way or another, people are fed up with it- and you are far out-numbered now!

Congressional elections have zero correlation to a presidential election

In fact if you look at our nations history they commonly are opposite

If a party does poorly in the midterm election the opposite party usually wins the presidency

The Senator was speaking of a presidential election in which he said Trump had no chance. A senior Republican Senator, no less.

Trump will be in court or jail. The true trumplestilskins do not care, but there are many more who are disgusted by him. He cannot collect intelligent women's votes, pro-choice votes, or people who want justice to apply to the rich and powerful too. I don't see Trump winning the election, but if enough people run against him, his solid 30 percent can get him the red nomination.

Except for last cycle when the Republicans lost the presidency and then lost the Senate and almost lost the house.

Disagree. Never thought Trump would get elected in 2016, but we all know how that turned out

Election is over eighteen months away, an eternity, and with the megaphone of social media and infotainment, anything is possible, as Trump showed us, the truth often doesn’t matter

A senior republican has spoken out, and you can be sure he is not alone. Trump has been a disaster for the GOP, and the candidates he has supported have done poorly. There are some good republican candidates who want to run but refuse to do so, if trump is the party's nominee. That says it all.

You realize who actually decides this stuff dont you? Even Georgie porgie stepsonhisdickopolus realizes you idiots are in trouble. There's is only one poll that matters but Georgie really didn't like that last pole showing Brandon losing to trump and desantis.

one would think that after the 2016 election, NOBODY in their right mind would ever say 'so and so' is never going to be president.............but I guess there are more stupid people in the country than we first realized
