Federal prosecutors are recommending a nine-year prison sentence for Bernie Ward, the former liberal talk show host who admitted distributing child pornography, and belittle his claim that he was just doing research for a book.

"No evidence supports (Ward's) contention that he engaged in his behavior to further a journalistic investigation," Justice Department lawyers said in court papers filed Wednesday in San Francisco. In fact, they said, new evidence shows that Ward shared graphic images of child pornography with a group of 10 people for about a year.

I think the biggest and clearest problem with Nazism and Stalinism was that they completely disregarded the notions of human rights and dignity and found other things more important. Anytime you regard anything as more important than human dignity, and the right to life, your philosophy has become fucked up.

As for liberalism, clearly its the only philosophy around any more that has any respect for human dignity.

A fetus can't even hold a preference as to whether or not it wants to exist. How you can call that a person, I know not. I'm talking about real, living, breathing, feeling people. Actual people.

A fetus cannot express a preference to be alive, so it's okay to end its existence.

A baby also cannot express a preference to be alive, but we know that they WANT to be alive so ending its existence would be morally reprehensible.
