Our allies are now warning their citizens that traveling to the U.S. means they risk being unlawfully arrested

Putin has pleasant dreams these days.
So is Xi now that he has a business partner both in the White House and at the Pentagon.

Detained while crossing the border
Read much? Being locked up for 16 days isn't a picnic. No wonder our former allies in Western Europe are warning their citizens. How much will this cost the US in tourism? Trade? Is flying your neo-Nazi flag so important to you that you want the US to go into a recession, vols?

From the link:
U.S. border agents handcuffed Tyler, a U.S. citizen, and chained her to a bench, while her fiancé, Lucas Sielaff, was accused of violating the rules of his 90-day U.S. tourist permit, the couple said. Authorities later handcuffed and shackled Sielaff and sent him to a crowded U.S. immigration detention center. He spent 16 days locked up before being allowed to fly home to Germany.

With an expired visa.
Wrong again, Ms. Fat Lane. Quit smoking meth, dear. It's damaging your already damaged brain, sweetcheeks.

She told Team 10 her fiancé has come to the U.S. before without issue and always returned to Germany to comply with his visa.

She went to Tijuana to get expensive surgery for her dog. She said CBP officers were immediately suspicious after seeing Sielaff’s German passport and sent the couple to a secondary screening, where they were separated on Feb. 18.

She said she was forced to leave her dog alone in the car for hours.

Claims CBP chained ankle

“They rip my hair tie out. They do a body check. They make me open my mouth. They fingerprint me. I say, 'Is this legal? Can I have a lawyer?' They say, 'You don't have a right to have a lawyer. You're being detained in a secure building,'" she said.

Tyler, an American citizen, said when she asked to speak to a supervisor, tensions escalated.

“They take me over to a bench. They chain my ankle to a bench. Hours go by. I keep asking questions. They tell me to shut up," she said.

She accused CBP officers of using scare tactics on her fiancé.

“They use fear and confusion to control you. I'm a psychologist and that's what was happening," she said.

Sielaff said CBP canceled his ESTA visa. ICE then arrested him and placed him in the Otay Mesa Detention Center.

Xi doesn't care about Trump's tariffs. He knows that it will be Americans paying for them, not Chinese companies. And like they did with soybeans, they'll just find new vendors to sell to theme. Trump lost American farmers' large soybean market the last time he pulled these stupid stunts. They now purchase mostly from Brazil, who is delighted to have their business. And as we've discussed before, China is nurturning African markets that we mostly ignore. They still need us, but they are going through rehab and will quit us. Wait for it.

“if statutes or visa terms are violated, travelers may be subject to detention and removal.”

Understand that???

I wonder if Trump will have to bail out American farmers again with a multibillion dollar welfare package.

The Republican party is Western civilization's only major fascist party that is routinely elected to run the government.
That is not only true, but it's sobering as well.

For all of its magnificent real estate and resources,
America is cursed with a largely depraved population.
This forum is a microcosm of that.

That doesn't bode well for things getting better.

I took a look at the definition of fascism in the American Heritage Dictionary, 5th definition:
**
A system of government marked by centralization of authority under a dictator, a capitalist economy subject to stringent governmental controls, violent suppression of the opposition, and typically a policy of belligerent nationalism and racism.
**
The U.S. isn't quite there yet, as Trump is not yet a dictator, but I can see it heading there eventually. I think it's important to know how this happened though. Leftist Chris Hedges has a good article on that:

From what I've seen, both the democrats and the republicans have become pretty bad recently. I wouldn't have voted for either Kamala or Trump if i were American. I think Trump is better when it comes to making peace with Russia and the democrats were better when it came to the rights of non nationals, but I suspect better is going to have to come soon if the U.S. is going to avoid tyranny.
