Putin's fleet of warships in Cuba is direct warning to Biden, experts say​


A fleet of Russian warships entered Cuban waters on Wednesday as they prepare to hold military drills in the Caribbean.

The deployment is likely a warning to President Biden after he gave approval for Ukrainian forces to strike some targets within Russia using U.S. weaponry, according to Rebekah Koffler, strategic intelligence analyst and author of "Putin's Playbook." Russian President Vladimir Putin is telling Washington, "we can touch you," Koffler said.

"Putin wants to be close to the U.S. homeland at this time when the Russia-Ukraine crisis is on a highly escalatory trajectory – given Biden’s authorization to Ukraine. If something goes wrong and Ukraine strikes critical targets in Russia close to major cities, the Russian military can enable the Cubans to strike targets inside the U.S. or strike U.S. interests," she said.


Three Russian warships arrived at Cuba's Havana Bay on Wednesday, greeted by a 21-cannon salute. A nuclear-powered submarine was also expected to arrive after them. Russia has said the submarine, the Kazan, is not carrying nuclear weapons.....

The Russian fleet is nothing more than a paper tiger?!! Ukraine has sunk or damaged a lot of Russia's Black Sea Fleet, imagine what the U.S. could do to the Russian Fleet?!! Remember, the Russian warships are in our backyard and a long way from home?!!

As true as that is, this visit is timed to give Biden an black eye in that he can and will do nothing about it.

Wrong, it is an attempted move by Putin to counterbalance the G7’s decision to use the money gained thru addition sanctions to aid the Ukrainian effort.

And nothing has to be done about it, what threat do the warships represent that wasn’t already present? Ain’t 1955, you don’t have to be 90 miles away to fire a missle

We don't know the purpose, if there actually was one. The show may be nothing more than a weakling flexing his small muscles to make himself feel better.

But rather than "giving Biden a black eye" it's a reminder we have a President who stands up to Putin instead of a President who humiliates himself standing next to him.

The Russians are on R&R- nice bit of sunshine, relaxation, wine, cheese, Cuban babes.
They might swap some nukes for the world's finest cigars though. It's sound, capitalist, business. Nothing personal.

It's the optics of it. The Russians pull into Cuba with several ships. Never mind, they were just lucky to make the trip without having to be towed. Biden already looks weak on foreign policy, so either he overreacts, or he gets hit with another policy blunder that could have been avoided had he been strong on foreign policy up to this point.

So he did neither. He left Americans remembering little Donald Trump on that stage with big Vladimir Putin, and how he has been a different
President in defending democratic values. The optics of it, you might say.

If he does any of the dozens of things he can do...you assholes will say that it was the wrong thing.
