You mean like 15 to 20% of real and actual unemployment because so many folks have left the work force that they don’t even bother looking for jobs anymore? You mean like the federal government ownership of General Motors on the taxpayer’s dime?

Churchill was rightly rejected when it mattered, decisively by the British people. Capitalism is theft and nothing else, ever. Anyone who supports it is a villain or a mug.

Sure was nice having him during the war, though, huh? Anyone who says that about capitalism clearly hates freedom. That's like calling a person an oxygen bandit for breathing, or a pedestrian a road hog for choosing to walk down the sidewalk on his own power.

Capitalism is theft and anti-democratic, by definition. Compare the MOP: democracy vs labor theory of value and need based coercion.

The pre-Soviet Russian socialists largely consisted of members of the intelligentsia. It's no surprise that so many adherents are the educated middle classes - those that face many of the problems of the most oppressed, don't get rich off the labor of others, and have the education to recognize all this.

Socialism is a solution to class domination, a tool for those oppressed classes, not some novelty ideology. Your mistake is looking at it the same way you do other economic systems.

If you can't do anything at all with your wealth, industry, labor, and capital, on your own power, then you are not free and never will be! Only modern day capitalism offers this, and even still, one must adhere to licensing, permits, fees, more fees, bureaucratic processing, health and safely inspections, zoning, and massive taxation - mostly for good cause, of course. Even with all of that, no other economic theory even pretends to recognize individual liberty.
